Windows Phone 7
It won’t take long for the first Windows Phone 7 to come out. On windowsphone7.com you can view demo’s of the main features. And I have to say, it looks pretty damn good. Design wise there are still some things I would have done different but I have that with almost everything.
I’ve nagged before about my Diamond (I’m actually not using it anymore, now got temporarily a Nokia 6300, which just works..), and I do hate all the old versions of Windows Mobile. But it really seems like they have thrown away all old junk and started over again.
I really think that if they can make app development easy like for Apple and Android, and really build out the marketplace, then use some great awesome hardware phones, it really can compete with Android, and even maybe even with iOS.
But still I’m skeptic, any demo can look smooth cool and awesome, but the reality can be very different. Also I’m curious how app development is gonna look like. In my opinion a mobile platform depends on it’s apps (just like an computer OS does..), so it’s greatness will be defined by the apps, and I don’t know how Microsoft will handle this.
I’m really curious how the Windows Phone 7 will work, it can be great, or nothing.. We will soon know..
